Christmas Beauty Wishlist

Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette
One of the most hyped products on the blogosphere. Urban Decay do it well with eyeshadows and after thoroughly loving my Naked 1 palette (and still treating it like my baby), I thought I should give some of the love to a new set of eyeshadows. The Naked 3 moves away from my normal neutral looks and moves more towards pinks and rose golds, I think it would be nice to experiment with different looks and this palette is perfect for doing so.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette
Oh my days, this palette. I've watched numerous YouTube videos and read countless blogs showing this palette and I have to say, I think I'm in love and it's not even in my hands yet! The colours look AMAZING and sooo highly pigmented and what's even better...IT SMELLS OF CHOCOLATE. Plz bring this to me Santa, will love you forever.

Benefit's Watt's Up Highlighter
I love a good highlight and I love a good Benefit product so why not put them together ey? Firstly, I love the packaging, Benefit never lets me down with their packaging! Secondly, the colour looks amazing and thirdly, it's a highlighter, and for me you can never go wrong with a bit of glowiness (is that a word?!).

NARS Laguna Bronzer
This bronzer has been on my wishlist for a long time now but I find that it is so expensive that it makes me chicken out when I want to buy it. I love bronzed skin and have been really getting into this look recently and from past reviews, I've heard many good things about this product and it looks gorgeous in photos!

theBalm Mary Lou Manizer Luminizer
Again, another highlighter. A girl can't have too many highlighters right? This product is one of the most hyped highlighters across the blogosphere and has been in my wishes for a long time. It seems so pigmented from what I've seen and tested (everytime I see it I always swatch it and dream about having this little beauty on my face, I know, sad.)

Let me know what your wishlist consists of!

Stila's 'In The Light' Eyeshadow Palette Review

Right to Left: Bare, Kitten, Bliss, Sunset, Sandstone

Right to Left: Bubbly, Glided Gold, Luster, Night Sky, Ebony

Oh I love a good eyeshadow palette, and when I catch my eye on something pretty, I want it. A couple of months ago I had a 20% off voucher for Marks and Spencers, so immediately I went to the beauty section. I came across a Stila stand, which I've never seen in M&S before, and was looking at the 'In the Light' palette which I've heard so many good things about. I didn't know whether this product would be in the 20% offer so I took it to the till with my fingers crossed to see if it was and HALLELUJAH IT WAS.

The eyeshadows are a range of neutral browns, golds and nudes with a couple of darker colours, the perfect palette for a girl like myself! It has a variety of shimmers and mattes and this palette is great for travelling, especially if you don't want to take so many products with you. The eyeshadows are quite creamy but highly pigmented, meaning there is some falldown particularly with the darker shades but this is easily brushed away. I particularly like using sandstone and sunset all over my lid with a mixture of bliss and bare in the outer corner and crease to create a natural make up look. They easily blend with eachother and are long lasting.

The packaging is a simple, rose gold coloured box with a mirror inside as well as a cute little quote saying 'believe in the beauty of the future.' As well as the eyeshadows, there is also a black pencil eyeliner (which I forgot to take a picture of *face palm*) however, I'm not too keen on this. I used it once and the pencil end snapped so I'm not too impressed with that, I do apologise Stila.

Overall, I 'm very impressed with this palette and would highly recommend it to anybody! The eyeshadows are perfect for those who don't like to go too out there with their make up and prefer a more natural everyday look. You can buy the Stila 'In the Light' palette or any other 'In the...' palettes from Marks and Spencer or any other department and beauty store for £25 which is a good price considering the product you're getting!

Thank you Daniel Wellington for my new beauty

For my 18th birthday, a new little baby came into my life. It's perfect, what I've wanted for ages and looks so pretty. Okay, it's a watch but seriously though, I get excited over these things! I've been wanting a watch from Daniel Wellington for ages because I saw that they sell the perfect brown leather watches that I've been loving. Everyone seems to be getting Michael Kors watches recently which I find nice but if I'm honest, they're not me at all. The range at Daniel Wellington is amazing and I decided to get the Classic Cardiff Lady which has a medium toned brown leather wristband and a rose gold face. I didn't want a watch to light because I feel that they look weird on my wrist, probably because I'm too pale. The rose gold features are beautiful, I'm a big fan of rose gold and have been looking for a watch with this detailing on and I found my perfect match. The face is large enough for me but not too big that it looks oversized on my wrist. Another good point is that usually with watches I have to drill an extra hole but with this one, there's plenty to fit all size wrists so it fit perfectly!

Have you tried any Daniel Wellington watches?

MAC's Lady Danger Review

Oh my days, Lady Danger you beauty. I do love a MAC lipstick guys and I especially love a good red. I've been really getting into bright lips recently and since I got some money for my birthday I decided to treat myself to a new MAC lipstick because you know, can't have enough can you?

Lady Danger has been on my wishlist for a long time now but I was always frightened of the matte formula. Matte lipsticks tend to look very dry on my lips and it doesn't look pretty but this lipstick is something else. Even though it is matte, it applies almost creamy like and feels very smooth on the lips, not what a normal matte lipstick would feel like. It doesn't dry my lips out (BONUS) and feels moisturising all day, I've worn this all day before and although the colour isn't as bold as it is when you first apply it, it's still there!

The colour is a very bright red which his more on the orange side, perfect for summer, even though summer is practically over...but I would say it's more of a neon red that goes very well with a tan and makes your teeth look extra white!

I'm very impressed with MAC's Lady Danger but not so impressed with the price, MAC, why you making it more expensive so I can't spend my pennies?!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation Review

First pumped...
When first applied...
With full make up...

I've always been a fan of the Bourjois Healthy Mix range and after trying the Healthy Mix Foundation I thought that there could be no other better foundation. I was wrong. I've wanted to try the Healthy Mix Serum for a while now and was even intending to buy it when I bought the foundation but I always thought £10 was a bit much, I'm obviously a cheapskate. However, as I was shopping in my local shopping centre I stopped off at one of the little make up stands where they sell discounted make up and I spotted this foundation. I've seen it before on these stands but there wasn't many shades until last week. I'VE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY. There was loads of shades for £3.99...£3.99!!! As you can tell I was slightly excited...

So obviously I bought it and it was probably the best decision I've made. Ever since I started wearing this foundation a lot of people have noticed a difference and complimented the way my make up looks (brownie points for them) so I thought it must be good! The serum isn't as full coverage as the Healthy Mix Foundation however it is buildable. It says that it gives 16-hour radiance with instant anti-fatigue therapy and I can easily say that it's great for waking up my skin, I found that out when I used it the day after my 18th birthday night out when I needed a little help looking more alive...

I use the shade 52 Vanilla which is perfect for my skin shade in the summer as I have a bit more colour but I think once my tan has faded I'll have to move to the lightest shade, #paleskinproblems. Like I said the coverage is buildable and as you can see from the first picture, I don't need that much concealer for blemishes but a little bit more for my dark circles. The finish is slightly dewy and very long lasting. It feels very smooth on the skin and I can easily apply it using my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, giving it a flawless finish

Overall I'm very impressed with this foundation! It's usually £10.99 from either Boots or Superdrug but if you have any discounted make up stands close by I would definitely look there!

That Birthday Outfit Post

Playsuit: Forever 21

 Bag: Primark

As I mentioned in my life update post, I turned 18 on Tuesday and honestly, it's the best feeling ever! Being an August baby has its downsides, especially when everyone is turning 18 and you're just sitting in the house with your cup of tea, depressed looking at photos...okay it wasn't always like that but I thought I'd just make it a bit dramatic (bad move Charl.) ANYWAY, sorry about the lack of photos of my actual outfit but I thought I'd include some from the night of my birthday party and night out, the day after my birthday. I had the BEST night with the BEST group of people and wish I could relive it!

I decided to wear a playsuit which I bought in Dubai from Forever 21 with a taupe clutch bag from Primark and taupe boot heels to match (which I stupidly didn't wear in the photo). I received a Daniel Wellington watch from my family for my 18th so I decided to wear that too.

It was so nice to have such an amazing group of friends to celebrate my birthday with and nights like that make me realise how much I'm going to miss everyone when we all go to uni! I had an unreal birthday and couldn't be any more grateful!

Life Update.

I always do this. I get back into blogging, blog loads, then leave for a few weeks and come back to a post where I apologise for my absence. So, to follow tradition, I'm sorry guysssss. I've been busy procrastinating, I mean come on, it's such a tiring thing to do. I thought because I'd been away for a while that I'd do a little life update to tell you what's been happening lately because quite frankly, a lot of things have happened and my life is going to change completely!

1. I've been to Dubai!
I spent my summer holiday in Dubai which was honestly amazing! If I could live somewhere abroad, I'd definitely live there. The weather, the food, THE SHOPS, are all perfect. I did a bit of damage to the old purse but never mind, YOLO (oh my days did I really just say that *cringe*). I went to Dubai for ten days and was lucky enough to fly out there in business class on Emirates which was a completely new experience for me. I felt so out of place but it was just soooo nice. The service was unbelievable and my chair turned into a bed...A BED. I've never felt so relaxed on a plane in my entire life. We did a lot of shopping whilst we were there but also a lot of sightseeing through driving round the city, as well as including a spot of sunbathing of course.

2. I want to go blonde, WHAT.
Well, not completely blonde, I don't think I'll go that drastic. But, I really want to give my hair the ombre look with blonde tips. I've been pinterest obsessed lately (if you're not following me, follow me here, just putting that out there), and I've been seeing so much inspiration and it's making me want to take the plunge. OH EM GEE, how scary. I don't even know if I'll suit it!

3. Should I start YouTube?
Right, this is something that I've been wanting to do for ages and is a major point on my bucket list. Obviously the YouTube culture is so popular now and more and more people are joining everyday, so I don't expect anything big, but I just want to sit and make videos and share them with you. I think it would be so much fun and I'd really enjoy it (hopefully) just as much as I love watching them. Let me know what you think in the comments below!

4. I'M NEARLY 18!
AHHHHHHHH. I will FINALLY be 18 on Tuesday!!! As you can tell I'm slightly excited for my 18th and being an August baby has its consequences. All of my friends are 18 and I've honestly been so jealous, it's so annoying! But I can't wait till Tuesday until I can match up to them, although everyone will start turning 19 soon...I hate being a young'un sometimes. I have a lot of celebrations going on next week which I'm so excited for and I'll definitely do some birthday posts to let you know all the crack.

5. You'll never guess...I'm going to uni mate.
So I kind of have to go to university now...dfjngsidu say whut?! My results day was last Thursday and I magically got BBC (a C in Geography WHAT). Now some of you may think that those aren't the best grades but to me they are a miracle. I've never been so nervous for a day in my entire life and on the morning of my results, I logged into my application and it said that my place at Sheffield Hallam to study English Language had been confirmed. There were no words. I didn't believe it. My mam was jumping up and down and I just convinced her that it wasn't true. BUT IT WAS. This has honestly made my year, after having a pretty rubbish year this news has made it much better and I couldn't be happier! I can't wait to go to Sheffield as a fresher and begin what could be the best three years of my life!

I hope this gives you a little insight into what I've actually been doing with my life lately, if I've done anything that is, and what is next to come for moi! I'm very excited for the future and want to take you lovely readers along with me!

Spread the Love With an Orange Lipstick

From left to right: Rimmel Apocalips 'Luna', Revlon Lip Butter 'Juicy Papaya', Rimmel Moisture Renew 'In Love With Ginger', MAC 'Saigon Summer'

From left to right: Rimmel Apocalips 'Luna', Revlon Lip Butter 'Juicy Papaya', Rimmel Moisture Renew 'In Love With Ginger', MAC 'Saigon Summer'

Orange has creeped into this years make up trend whether it be a glamorous look or even a casual daytime look, orange is one of the most flattering colours that suits every skintone. I never used to be a fan of orange but when I started to experiment more with make up I began to fall in love with it. Whether it be a subtle shade or a full on bright lip, it's perfect for a summer glow and there's a shade for everyone.

The Liquid Orange

The Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers are a great favourite of mine and when they were discovered at the beginning of 2013, I knew I had to get my hands on some. The shade 'Luna' is a subtle orange that has a satin finish but dries quite matte. The formula of the lip product is, what I would say, the mediator between a lip gloss and a lipstick, for those days where you're feeling crazy and want a bit of both. The colour is applied quite bright, especially for my skin tone, but when it dries it's actually quite subtle and not too in your face.

The Glossy Orange

For those glossy girls who think a matte lip doesn't suit their cracked lips that mother nature likes to give us (I feel your pain), the Revlon Lip Butters are the perfect option for this case. I have three shades with my first one being 'Juicy Papaya', a gorgeous orange shade with a slight shine. Not only does it give a natural orange colour to the lips, it moisturises them too (PERF!) so that cracked lips are no more! I would say the colour of this is darker than your typical orange but great for a natural make up. I love just popping this on my lips when I'm having one of those lazy make up days!

The Blood Orange

MY FAV. I love this orange shade and I think it really compliments my skintone, particularly when I have a tan. The Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in 'In Love With Ginger' (how cute is the name?!) is my personal favourite when it comes to a good orange lip. The product is highly pigmented with a moisturising formula, giving a subtle glossy finish. I would say that these lipsticks are similar to the amplified MAC lipsticks, in that the colour pay off is amazing and they last for a long time. This colour is a mix between a red and orange and a perfect shade for the summer AND makes your teeth seem whiter, ticks of an extra box for me!

The Bright Orange

Now, when it comes to this type of orange, I'm always a bit hit and miss. I love a bright lip and have really started to get into this look at the moment, however when it comes to orange I'm just not sure. I decided to try out 'Saigon Summer' from MAC  (of course I had to include a MAC lipstick) and at first, I wasn't too keen, but once I wore it a bit more I got used to the colour on my lips and actually love it! It's a cremesheen formula meaning that it applies quite creamy and has a slight sheen to it. I must say though the lasting power of this isn't so great but it still has a place in my heart.
