Maybelline Master Sculpt Contouring Set

First things first, I'm very sorry for my absence. In the past month I've been on holiday and then I've just been plain lazy even though I had a whole list of blog post ideas to write. Secondly, I love contouring, like, I've really been into my contouring recently and I'm loving it. This product came out a couple of months or so a go and I really liked the look of it but did not know whether to buy it not. I think the fact the Mollie King was the face of Maybelline and this product I knew it had to be part of my collection because I love love LOVE her. I thought to myself, as I was going on holiday I thought I'd treat myself to some new make up bits and so I did. Plus, the 3 for 2 offer at the time really helped so thank you Boots (love ya).

I got the shade 02 Medium/Dark as I thought it would go better once I had a tan and I quite like a defined contour. The contour shade is quite warm toned and most definitely matte. I prefer matte contour shades as I think it makes the look more defined whereas I like a bit of shimmer in my bronzer to give a more sunkissed look. I always feel like my contour looks its best when I use this product and I don't know why but it's pretty damn good. The highlight shade is a very gold/champagne kind of colour and gives a very subtle glow. I have to admit, and I hate to be the odd one out, but I'm not a massive fan of the highlighter. I did use it in holiday quite a bit but that's only because I didn't really have another highlighter with me of this colour so I stuck to this one, plus I wanted to give it a go cause you never know until you try don't you? I'm not hating on this highlighter because I do love my highlighters but I just don't think it gives off a great deal of shimmer and it's not the most pigmented highlighter I've used. But don't worry, it doesn't mean I'm gonna abandon it. it's still part of my life. The colour from both of these shades, however, does last all day and I've found that it's one of the better contour sets I've used!

You can get this set in a light/medium shade which will suit paler skin tones wheres as the medium/dark will suit a more darker complexion. However, saying that, I'm not exactly dark, I just have a tan at the minute from being on holiday but I think the darker shade will suit most skin tones, especially if you love a contoured look and blend the product out well! You can buy this from any drugstore for only £6.99 which I think is a complete bargain!

What do you think of this product?

Benefit's 'Hoola' Bronzer Review

I love a good bronzer and lately I've been really getting into contouring and bronzed skin. Trying to master the Kim K look is harder than I thought but I'm still trying! Benefit's 'Hoola' bronzer is well hyped around the blog and YouTube world and probably every blogger/YouTuber and their dog has this product and I definitely know why. Like my post last week on the Benefit's 'Watt's Up' Highlighter, I asked for this bronzer for Christmas and gratefully received and I have been using it ever since. I love it and for some reason it always makes me feel a bit Hawaiian or something, maybe that's just me...

I currently only own one of the Benefit's box powders and receiving this makes me want to collect more. Benefit does it again with the packaging, including a small mirror which I love and giving enough product to last a long time. The bronzer comes with a small brush which I actually love. I'm never usually a fan of some make up brushes that come with a certain product but I use this one on a daily basis. The brush picks up the right amount of product and is a perfect size and shape for contouring and giving the cheekbones a bit of definition.

The colour of the bronzer is, in my opinion, perfect for all skin tones. It is not orange-toned, creating a natural and sun-kissed look, and doesn't look muddy on the face, especially when blended out. It is easily buildable but pigmented enough to only use a small amount of the product and give an effect. It lasts most of the day, I have noticed that it has lasted a solid few hours until it starts to fade slightly but still looks effective.

The bronzer costs £23.50, just like the rest of the box powders and I have to say it is definitely good value for money as I feel like it will last a good amount of time before hitting the bottom.

Benefit's 'Watt's Up' Highlighter Review

The majority of my Christmas list consists of make up and beauty products and yes, I know you're probably wondering why I'm still talking about Christmas when it's a week into February, but it's always nice to keep up the Christmas spirit, right? Basically, I received this highlighter as a Christmas present and oh my golly gosh I think I'm in love. I've been wanting this product for such a long time and I remember reading loads of blog posts and reviews on this ages ago and wishing i had it but I always turned it away because I chickened out in spending the money. But since I received it for Christmas I've been wearing it non-stop!

First of all, let's give a round of applause, as always, to Benefit for their amazing packaging. I feel like I have to give credit to the packaging of every Benefit product when I write a blog post about them because they're most definitely on point. The quirkiness of the product and its name is one of the main things that draws me to the product (as well as the actual make up of course) like many others, and they make my make up collection look pretty.

This cream highlighter is in a stick form and glides on the cheeks so easily. I usually go for pink/peachy highlights because I think they suit my skin perfectly but this is the total opposite. The colour gives a champagne/gold sheen to the cheeks and suits every skin tone. I love wearing it especially when I'm more tanned as it is a perfect combination with bronzed skin for a sun-kissed look. I've been loving it throughout this past month and I can tell I'm going to absolutely adore it throughout summer.

I love wearing this on its own but also as a base for a powder highlighter. I'm a highlight girl. I love highlighting. So this is why apply two highlighters. Wow, how many times do I want to mention the word highlight? I usually apply this straight from the stick then blend it out with a face brush. I have tried the sponge given on the other end of the stick but I don't like it that much. It doesn't seem to blend the product out as well as a brush and took some of my make up off with it. That is not good.

I know this is going to be a new favourite of mine and I'm so grateful that I was given this to add to my collection. It costs £24.50, which I  thought it was a little bit pricey which is why I was always put off buying it but honestly, I would highly recommend it and it is definitely worth the money!

Have you tried this highlighter?

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation Review

First pumped...
When first applied...
With full make up...

I've always been a fan of the Bourjois Healthy Mix range and after trying the Healthy Mix Foundation I thought that there could be no other better foundation. I was wrong. I've wanted to try the Healthy Mix Serum for a while now and was even intending to buy it when I bought the foundation but I always thought £10 was a bit much, I'm obviously a cheapskate. However, as I was shopping in my local shopping centre I stopped off at one of the little make up stands where they sell discounted make up and I spotted this foundation. I've seen it before on these stands but there wasn't many shades until last week. I'VE NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY. There was loads of shades for £3.99...£3.99!!! As you can tell I was slightly excited...

So obviously I bought it and it was probably the best decision I've made. Ever since I started wearing this foundation a lot of people have noticed a difference and complimented the way my make up looks (brownie points for them) so I thought it must be good! The serum isn't as full coverage as the Healthy Mix Foundation however it is buildable. It says that it gives 16-hour radiance with instant anti-fatigue therapy and I can easily say that it's great for waking up my skin, I found that out when I used it the day after my 18th birthday night out when I needed a little help looking more alive...

I use the shade 52 Vanilla which is perfect for my skin shade in the summer as I have a bit more colour but I think once my tan has faded I'll have to move to the lightest shade, #paleskinproblems. Like I said the coverage is buildable and as you can see from the first picture, I don't need that much concealer for blemishes but a little bit more for my dark circles. The finish is slightly dewy and very long lasting. It feels very smooth on the skin and I can easily apply it using my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, giving it a flawless finish

Overall I'm very impressed with this foundation! It's usually £10.99 from either Boots or Superdrug but if you have any discounted make up stands close by I would definitely look there!

Benefit Rockateur Blush || Review

As you all know, I love collecting blushes. The Rockateur blush has been a well hyped product in the blogosphere and a favourite of many. I received this as a gift for Christmas and was super excited to try it! I've been admiring the boxed powders from Benefit for a long time and always wanted to start a collection because I loved the packaging and heard many good things about the products and so, Rockateur is my first edition!

This blush is a beautiful rose gold shimmery shade which gives a gorgeous glow to the cheeks. I always love a good highlight and I think this does a great job! I've been applying this with a bit of Benefit's Sun Beam highlighter which I have started to love again recently. I apply this underneath then dust a bit of Rockateur on top. You don't need much but you can easily layer it up to give the effect you're looking for. I think that it helps to give a lovely sun-kissed look and it's a great shade for summer!

The packaging of the blush is of course, a little bit beautiful just like any other Benefit product. I'm a huge fan of their quirky, individual styles and this packaging really stands out. The blush was so pretty and the pattern engraved on it was too good to touch. I actually didn't use it for a little while because I was so afraid of spoiling the little thing. However, I gave in to temptation to use it. It's safe to say it doesn't look the way it used to...*cries*

Unlike others I actually quite like the brush that is already given and tend to use it when applying the blush. I feel like it gives off just the right amount of product and is a good shape and size when it comes to applying it to my cheeks.

The Rockateur blush comes in at £23.50 and you can buy it from Boots or most department stores. I would highly recommend this product if you're looking for a subtle glow to the cheeks, especially for summer!

Have you tried the Rockateur blush?

Sleek Blush by 3 Palette in 'Pink Lemonade' || Review

Left to right: Icing Sugar, Macaroon, Pink Mint

When it comes to buying a new blush, I'm like a kid at Christmas. Blushes are one of my favourite make up items to collect and I love trying out different kinds. I've heard many things about the Sleek 'Blush by 3' palettes, the majority being positive, and so being a beauty blogger and all that jazz I decided to pop out and buy myself one. I've tried one of the Sleek blushes before and I was highly impressed so I had high expectations. I bought this palette in the shade 'pink lemonade' from my local Tesco for £9.99, meaning that each blush would individually cost £3.33, which makes it pretty good value as normal single blushes cost £4.49!

The palette consists of 3 pinky/peach shades, with 2 powder blushes and 1 cream blush. They are all very pigmented blushes which are very long lasting. 'Pink Mint' is a beautiful blue toned pink with a hint of shimmer. It is one of my most used shades in the palette and is perfect for adding a natural glow and colour to the cheeks. It is a powder blush and very easy to apply. 'Macaroon' has to be my favourite in the palette. It's weird because I don't normally go for a cream blush everyday but this is just gorgeous! It is like a proper pink, if you get what I mean, very pigmented and very natural. I like to press it in to my skin with a buffing brush and it's great because you don't need too much product to give off the full effect. A little really does go a long way! 'Icing Sugar' is the other powder blush in the palette and my least favourite. I haven't used this blush much since I bought the palette however, I have worn it a little bit. It's different from the other two in that it is more of a coral/peach colour, also with a hint of shimmer. It is a warm tone blush with high pigmentation but doesn't quite fit my fancy!

The packaging has no specialty about it as it is just a simple black case with a standard mirror inside. I like the simplicity of the packaging but I wouldn't rave about it! The palette is very handy to put in my make up bag as it gives a good choice of blush for those days where you need a bit of variety. You can buy Sleek products from Superdrug or even check your local Tesco! For £9.99 it's a pretty good deal!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation...The Perfect Foundation?

Hi everyone, hope you're all well!

I'm always on the hunt for the perfect foundation and I'm always buying different kinds to find out. From reading blogs and watching YouTube videos, the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation has been a big hit. So, following the blogger hype as always, I needed to have this little number in my make up bag. I was on my way to work one day and like usual, I took a little trip into Superdrug because they had a 3 for 2 offer on and well, I can't just walk past it can I?

I'm going to admit, at first I didn't like this foundation and didn't really understand why there was so much hype over it. However, at the time of purchasing this product I was going through my AS level exams and when I'm doing exams I get stressed which makes my skin extremely bad, especially my T-zone. So, when I first started using it, I noticed that it didn't stay on as well as I would've liked, purely because I had such an oily T-zone. Also, even though I have the lightest shade in the collection which is 100 ivory, it still seems to be a little bit dark for my skin because I have pale skin.

After my exams had finished, my skin started to clear up and I continued to use this foundation and I noticed such a difference. It managed to stay on all day without any top ups which is perfect because when I'm at sixth form, I never get the chance to top up my make up so I'd rather have a foundation that is long lasting. Also, I began to work out how much I actually need and by using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush, I buff it into my skin more so it gives an even finish. I would say it's more of a medium coverage foundation which is great because it's not too heavy but it covers up any uneven skin.

The foundation does exactly what it says on the bottle which is that it gives an 'anti-fatigue effect + radiant glow' as it instantly brightens the skin and doesn't make you look tired and actually does wake you up. Another bonus of this foundation is that it has SPF 15 which is great if you're out and want to wear make up as well as being protected from the sun. However, you may be able to see by the photo that there are slight shimmer particles in the foundation. The shimmer isn't that obvious when you put it on your face but I have noticed that in certain lights it does show slightly. This isn't a big problem for me but maybe for others it could be.

As I said, I bought this foundation from Superdrug but you can also buy it from Boots at a price of £8.99 it is great value and I would highly recommend this product. It is probably one of the best foundations I've used so if you're interested, get yourself down to your local drugstore!

Hope you have a great rest of the week and enjoy whatever you're doing!
