Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick - 'Glastonberry'

Charlotte Tilbury has become a household name in the past year of make up. Even though the brand has been around for a while, it is only recently that I have been interested in her products and lusted after many but sadly cried because I couldn't afford anything. I remember watching one of Zoella's make up tutorials on YouTube and she used this lipstick, this beautiful beautiful lipstick, and I thought, this is definitely going to have to be added to my ever-growing lipstick collection. The lipstick isn't the cheapest, however, so I knew it was something to save for. I asked for the shade 'Glastonberry' for Christmas, thinking I wasn't really going to get it but when I looked in my stocking and found it, I was in genuine shock. I was so grateful to have received this from my parents. After all it is £23.

Let's start with the name. I mean, come on, 'Glastonberry'. Get it? Like the festival but mixed in with the actual shade of the lipstick. Wow, I'm definitely an English language student if I find that interesting. The packaging is something else. A STUNNING rose gold case with Charlotte's initials on the top. Even the box it comes in is beautiful. The lipstick bullet is strange, however, as it is not like your normal everyday lipstick. The tip is squared, making it quite difficult to apply. Definitely a lipstick that takes a few goes before you get the hang of it.

The colour of this does what it says on the tin. It is very much a berry colour, perfect for Autumn/Winter. Now I know we're in the months leading up to Spring but there's no reason why the dark and vampy shades should be taken out of your make up. I am currently wearing Glastonberry whilst I'm writing this so it's fine for me! I'm going to be honest, the colour was a lot darker than I was expecting. I don't know why but I thought it was going to be more red than purple. This did not affect me whatsoever. because I do love a good dark lip. As it says in the name, the lipstick is a matte formula, meaning it is very long lasting and doesn't look shiny on the lips. The lipstick does not dry my lips out which is perfect as I've been having some serious dry lip business going on at the moment. Its longevity is amazing, lasts all day even through eating and drinking. It does bleed a little bit but that is easily resolved with a lip liner. I tend not to wear lip liners, silly me.

It is on the more pricey side at £23 but it is definitely an amazing products, particularly for those special occasions.

Have you tried 'Glastonberry'?

Review: MAC's Blankety

Looking for the perfect nude? Well, this may be the blog post to read. I love my lipsticks, like, seriously love them. It's bad how many I own but you know what, I don't really care. I am all up for a bold lip however, when it comes to nudes, I have got time for that. MAC lipsticks are an all time favourite of mine and I could not fault any of the ones that I own. Blankety has been quite famous across the internet for a while now and I never really knew whether I wanted to try it out. If I'm honest, when I saw people wearing it on blogs and YouTube videos I thought it was more of a darker nude, and I prefer a lighter colour, so I was never really interested. But then the moment came when I somehow managed to fall into the MAC counter (how does that happen ey) and I stood next to the lipstick stand. Yes, I swatched a billion before I found blankety and oh my giddy aunt I fell in love. I know I say that about many lipsticks that I own but seriously, this changed me. I swatched this colour and was like ahhhhh then I looked at the name and was like AHHHHH. In my head though not out loud cause that might've made me look a bit odd...

The colour is definitely more on the pinky side of nudes which are my fav. I do own brown toned nudes but I just think that those with pink undertones suit my skin tone more and I've always gone towards them. I would say this is quite a girly pink and would suit all skin tones. It also seems to make my teeth look whiter which I love and it looks great with a tan. But what doesn't look great with a tan? This is because it is quite blue undertoned and I would recommend to anyone who wants a pearly white smile to get blue toned lipsticks as it really brings your nashers out.

The longevity of this product is pretty good. As it is an amplified finish, it is very pigmented. However, I do own many other amplified finishes from MAC and I wouldn't say that this is the most pigmented out of the ones that I own. This may be because it is a nude though and the others are bold colours so I'll give it that one. It does last pretty much all day, but that is if you don't eat and drink, which is never going to happen in my world because I love food too much and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I sometimes do need to reapply it but overall it stays well. I do sometimes find that it leaves a line on my lips when it wears off, which isn't very attractive. This could be because my lips are quite dry at the moment though so don't quote me on that. It isn't matte and gives a nice subtle shine and of course, the smell never fails to disappoint. Think vanilla.

MAC lipsticks retail at £15.50 (what a liberty, I remember when they were £13) and you can get them from their website or shop or House of Fraser concessions!

Review: Topshop 'Rio Rio' Lipstick

A red lip is a must have for every girl. I just think there's something so sassy about a girl when she wears red (cue sassy girl emoji). Summer is the perfect time to be wearing a bright red lip, particularly and orange-toned red, however as the transition into my favourite month, Autumn, is upon us, the deep berry reds will begin to come. But I don't see what is stopping us from wearing our bright reds, hey girls? I've never really been the type of person to give into the hype of Topshop make up and ever since they released their own make up line in 2010, I didn't really seem to bother much about it. To this day I own 5 products: 2 nail varnishes, 2 lipsticks and 1 lip pencil in the shade 'Coy' (which Corrie from Dizzybrunette3 made me buy way back. Yes Corrie, you did). I also had an eyeliner which I absolutely loved but sadly I had to part ways a few months ago.

This year, Topshop celebrated their 5th birthday for their make up line and for this, they brought out their 5 best selling lipsticks, nail polishes, black liquid liner, 'Head Over Heels' blush and their 'Glow' highlighter in a stunning new packaging. I love the Topshop packaging already however changing the original black detail to rose gold just topped it off for me. I love a bit of rose gold me, and Topshop just pushes all my rose gold loving buttons. At the beginning of Summer, I took a trip to Westfield in London. Being a Northern girl, I don't go here often and had actually only been once before my recent trip but having a Southern boyfriend means I can take a few more trips I guess. I decided to add 'Rio Rio' to my Topshop collection, a bright orange-toned, matte red perfect for Summer but also the upcoming Autumn months. As well as deep reds, orange reds are one of my favourite kind of reds. Say red again? Red.

This lipstick is super long lasting. I am so impressed with the longevity of this lipstick, this is particularly down to the fact that it is matte but still, it is most definitely a positive. I love matte lips. I love my shiny lips but I have never been a fan of lipglosses, just creamy and glossy looking lipsticks. Matte lips are all in at the minute, particulary in Autumn and Winter. Unlike some matte lipsticks, this one is not drying which is great because as the colder weather draws in, the dry lips come out. It is defintiely a bright colour, however it would suit every skin tone. I love it because it makes my teeth look super white, especially if I have a tan going on. BONUS. This shade is perfect for the transition of Summer into Autumn and is one of my go-to lips at the moment.

Maybelline's Colour Drama Lipstick in 'Fuchsia Desire'

I've never been the best at using lip liners. I always make my lips look totally different (in a bad way, that is) and end up looking like the joker on a bad day. Recently, Maybelline have released their Colour Drama Lipsticks in a range of shades and I thought, this could be my shot at perfecting the art of lip linery (is that even a thing?!) So I wandered down, as you do, to my local Boots and picked up my first shade. I had saw many YouTubers use the shade 'Fuchsia Desire' and it looked amazing so I thought I'd choose that as my first purchase and it's safe to say I was not disappointed even if I do struggle to spell fuchsia...is that even right??

'Fuchsia Desire' is a beautiful blue toned hot pink shade which is perfect for summer especially when you have a tan. It makes your teeth look white, mainly due to the blue undertones in the colour giving this lipstick extra brownie points. Another bonus from this product is that it is so long lasting, it dries matte and lasts all day. I love matte lipsticks but hate it when they look and feel dry and cling to the dry parts of your lips. This, however, does not do any of them and the colour does not wear off. I've worn this all day, eaten a heck load of food and drank a lot and the lipstick had not budged. I even had a curry once and it still stayed on, I always find my lipstick comes off when I eat a curry, is that just me?

This product is not in your typical lipstick form. It comes in the form of a lip pencil, which you could use it as but I use it as an all over lip colour. The pencil itself is quite thick, not like a normal lip liner, which I find makes it easier to apply. Like I said, I'm useless at applying lip liner so this really does help.

There are so many different colours which I need to get my hands on! They only cost £4.99 which is just the right price and you can buy them from any drugstore or even supermarket!

MAC's 'Honeylove' Lipstick Review

The Kylie Jenner lip trend has become very popular amongst girls, particularly over the blogging and YouTube community. I, even though I love the Kardashian/Jenner family, have never really gotten into the whole 'I need MAC Velvet Teddy to look like Kylie Jenner' phase. I just didn't think that a brown toned nude would suit me so I didn't really bother. However, for Christmas I received MAC's 'Honeylove', a brown toned nude similar to that of Kylie Jenner's lipstick choice. Have I entered the craze? I had this on my wishlist for over a year since I saw my friend wearing it to sixth form and I really liked it. So, when I received this as a gift I was really excited to try it out.

I own a lot of nude lipsticks but none of this sort. All of my nudes are mainly pink toned as I think they suit me more and I like how they look on the lips. I have never tried a brown toned nude before but I thought I'd give it a shot. This lipstick, in my opinion, would suit many skin tones as it is a natural looking lipstick, perfect for those who aren't keen on going for the bold choice. But for me, I still prefer a more pinky nude. I don't dislike this lipstick, however, as I do think it is a lovely colour and I've worn it a lot since I received it at Christmas! It is a matte finish but doesn't look too dry on the lips and actually has a slight sheen to it when you first apply. The consistency is quite creamy, making it much easier to apply than many matte lipsticks. I do find though that sometimes you can see the cracks and dry skin on your lips, especially if you have dry lips which I've suffered from recently.

It does last a long time which puts a huge tick next to this BUT it does not last as long as some of my other lipsticks, especially Russian Red, as it can rub of throughout the day. It is perfect for an all year round colour and would suit any skin tone!

Have you tried Honeylove?

MAC's 'Russian Red' Lipstick Review

I love MAC lipsticks and by love, I mean I have a strong obsession. My bank balance is always hit hard when I take a trip to a MAC counter and I spend a good quarter of every shopping trip browsing and swatching a bunch of lipsticks until my hand looks like I've encountered some sort of deathly disease in the past hour that I had been standing there for. Of course that's not true, but my mam will always ask what has happened to the backs of my hand when I go shopping and I always give the same answer. I'm a make up addict, this is the life I lead...

Russian red has been on my MAC lipstick wishlist for a while now and I kindly received it for Christmas this year. this lipstick is a matte formula meaning it does not have any shine and stays on for longer. I've been really getting into matte lipsticks recently as I prefer the longevity of the product but I also love how it looks on the lips. I'm always worried about these formulas, however, as I've heard people speak about one MAC lipstick in particular (think it may be Ruby Woo, which is also on my wishlist) being quite hard to apply and doesn't glide on easily. Russian Red, on the other hand, does the trick and glides on like icing on a cake (MMM CAKE). It doesn't feel drying on the lips and doesn't look it either. BUT, I wouldn't recommend wearing a matte formulated lipstick if you have dry or cracked lips as it will make them a lot more noticeable. Not a nice look I can assure you.

The colour is more of a deep red but a very wearable lipstick for those who aren't comfortable with bold lip colours. It's more of a blue-toned red meaning that it makes your teeth look just that little bit whiter giving it more brownie points than it already has. It does last all day and my mam was shocked that it had lasted from morning to night without budging even though I eat 24/7, it did not move. She was genuinely impressed. The only problem I have about this lipstick, as well as other MAC lipsticks for that matter, is the price. £15.50 FOR A MAC LIPSTICK?!?! I used to pay about £12/£13 point which, yes I know is only a couple of pounds difference but still, how expensive?! Rant over sorry but I'm just not happy with this increase in price, how is my purse going to cope?

Have you tried Russian Red?

MAC's Lady Danger Review

Oh my days, Lady Danger you beauty. I do love a MAC lipstick guys and I especially love a good red. I've been really getting into bright lips recently and since I got some money for my birthday I decided to treat myself to a new MAC lipstick because you know, can't have enough can you?

Lady Danger has been on my wishlist for a long time now but I was always frightened of the matte formula. Matte lipsticks tend to look very dry on my lips and it doesn't look pretty but this lipstick is something else. Even though it is matte, it applies almost creamy like and feels very smooth on the lips, not what a normal matte lipstick would feel like. It doesn't dry my lips out (BONUS) and feels moisturising all day, I've worn this all day before and although the colour isn't as bold as it is when you first apply it, it's still there!

The colour is a very bright red which his more on the orange side, perfect for summer, even though summer is practically over...but I would say it's more of a neon red that goes very well with a tan and makes your teeth look extra white!

I'm very impressed with MAC's Lady Danger but not so impressed with the price, MAC, why you making it more expensive so I can't spend my pennies?!

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Pink Blush

Hello lovely people!

So today I thought I'd share with you my thoughts on the Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Pink Blush. I recently posted a blog post about my top 4 spring lipsticks where I briefly reviewed this product. However, since you are all beautiful and deserve to know more about this wonderful product, I thought I'd expand on that brief review and giver you all a deeper insight to the lipstick.

I bought this lipstick with no intention of buying it in the first place. Before work one day I popped into Superdrug and they had a 3 for 2 offer on Rimmel products. I was aiming to buy a primer and a powder and I thought I couldn't just leave with 2 products when I could get another for free! I mean, who would do that anyway?! Randomly, I picked up this lipstick without knowing what beauty lay ahead. I fell in love. I have to say, at the moment this is my favourite lipstick. It goes with everything and is part of both my everyday and evening looks. It is a bright pink colour and very pigmented. The colour lasts a long time and the texture is so creamy, it applies perfectly to the lips. It also has a slight sheen to it which also makes it feel quite moisturising as it glides on. I find that it doesn't smudge or spill into the cracks of the lips and gives and even, full coverage finish. I've always been a pink lipstick girl and I didn't expect to fall in love with a bright colour like this. You can buy it from any drugstore, Superdrug or Boots, at a price of £4.99.

Hope you all have a lovely evening!
